Oh um...hold on a minute...yeah, cut it in half, scoop out the core, add corned beef (?) and other veg and.....um ...roast it!

Wow I love it when the inspiration bus ( Matt Leeder quote) hits!

haha.

agree with Liz - stuffed marrow is fab. Mince Beef instead of corned beef works nicely too.
Use it as an accompanying vegetable too - just half it, scoop out core then slice into 3/4" slices (approx!) and boil in lightly salted water for about 10 mins.
Failing that, wrap it in bubble wrap and brown paper and post to me - i love marrow!!!!

Ha ha! a marrow! That is so funny! I love the random donations given to the Army!

It was given to me, Ann Borrett, not the Salvation Army ! :-)
Thanks for all the suggestions ! What is the point of marrow if you have to scoop out most of it !!!

Well I dunno! I was just reflecting back what YOU told ME!

I agree with Mr Caldjr though - mince sounds much nicer than corned beef. I'd get Rich to check out that recipe again !

Have fun and don't forget, I'm sure you can make soup with the scooped out bit - that's what tends to happen to most things you can't actually eat, like gizzards and ...that :)

I think I meant giblets actually :)

If you can be bothered, you can toast the seeds off when you've scooped them out - make a nice snack. Failing that the birdies in your garden will love them!!

I think I may conduct an experiment with it .... keep it in my fridge until it goes mouldy/turns to water, see how long that takes !

Estelle...are you sure you can't turn marrow into spag bol somehow ? It is still whole in the fridge ! No mould as yet.
